Role: Recreational Gymnastics Coach

Northshore Gymnastics is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and passionate Recreational Gymnastics Coach to join our team!

At NGC, we believe gymnastics is about far more than learning skills. It is an opportunity to educate, inspire, and empower individuals to become stronger, more confident, and more capable both inside and outside of the gym.

We are looking for a coach who shares this belief and understands that the most successful gymnastics programs are built on relationships, trust, and consistency.

As a Recreational Gymnastics Coach, you will be responsible for creating a positive, safe, energetic, and educational experience for gymnasts of varying ages and abilities.

You will teach gymnastics fundamentals and skills while helping athletes develop confidence, body awareness, coordination, discipline, perseverance, and a love for the sport.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead recreational gymnastics classes for children of varying ages and skill levels

  • Teach gymnastics skills using appropriate progressions and safety practices

  • Create an energetic, encouraging, and inclusive class environment

  • Maintain appropriate athlete-to-coach ratios and safety standards

  • Provide positive and constructive feedback

  • Adapt instruction to meet individual athletes’ needs

  • Build positive relationships with athletes and families

  • Communicate professionally with parents and NGC staff

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment

  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education as needed

  • Follow all NGC policies, procedures, and athlete safety standards

  • Serve as a positive role model for our athletes

The Role:

The Coach We Are Looking For:

The right candidate is more than someone who knows gymnastics.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, takes pride in helping others learn, and understands the responsibility that comes with being a coach and role model.

You may be a great fit for NGC if you are:

  • Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic

  • Patient and encouraging

  • Dependable and consistent

  • Comfortable working with children of different ages and abilities

  • A strong communicator

  • Coachable and open to feedback

  • A team player who enjoys collaborating with others

  • Safety-conscious and attentive

  • Passionate about helping others grow

  • Someone who celebrates progress rather than focusing solely on perfection

Prior gymnastics coaching experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates the character, attitude, and passion we value.

Gymnastics experience as an athlete, coach, instructor, teacher, or similar youth-development experience is a plus.

❋ OUR MISSION

At Northshore Gymnastics, it is our passion to educate, inspire, and serve all who seek to empower themselves through the sport of gymnastics.

We aim to inspire and empower individuals of all ages to achieve their full potential through gymnastics. We are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where athletes can develop discipline, perseverance, dedication, and confidence.

We strive to cultivate a lifelong love for gymnastics, foster teamwork and sportsmanship, and nurture the dreams and aspirations of every gymnast who walks through our doors.

Our coaches play an essential role in creating this experience.

We want every athlete who leaves your class to feel more confident, more capable, and excited to come back.

❋ WHAT WE VALUE

RELATIONSHIPS

At NGC, we believe gymnastics is built on relationships.

The relationship between a coach and athlete is especially important in recreational gymnastics. Children learn best from coaches who make them feel safe, seen, encouraged, and supported.

We also value strong relationships with parents and coworkers. Our culture prioritizes communication, self-reflection, shared experiences, and feedback because we believe great coaching extends beyond the skill being taught.

We are looking for coaches who:

  • Build genuine connections with athletes

  • Communicate positively and professionally with parents

  • Work collaboratively with fellow coaches

  • Understand that every athlete learns differently

  • Take the time to celebrate effort, progress, and individual accomplishments

TRUST

At NGC, trust is our currency.

Trust is earned through consistency, honesty, communication, and follow-through.

Our athletes and families should know that they can count on our coaches to create a safe environment, maintain appropriate boundaries, communicate clearly, and uphold the standards of our program.

We are looking for coaches who:

  • Are dependable and responsible

  • Follow through on commitments

  • Communicate openly and respectfully

  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries

  • Create an environment where athletes feel safe taking appropriate risks and making mistakes

  • Understand that safety and athlete well-being always come first

CONSISTENCY

Consistency is the foundation of progress.

Whether an athlete is attending their first gymnastics class or has been training for years, consistent coaching and expectations create the foundation for a successful gymnastics experience.

We believe athletes thrive when coaches consistently provide structure, encouragement, clear expectations, and positive reinforcement.

We are looking for coaches who:

  • Arrive prepared and on time

  • Maintain consistent class structure and expectations

  • Provide engaging, organized instruction

  • Teach proper progressions and fundamentals

  • Encourage athletes to challenge themselves while maintaining safety

  • Recognize that small, consistent improvements create meaningful long-term growth

Why NGC?

At Northshore Gymnastics, we are building more than gymnastics skills. We are building a community.

Our goal is for athletes to develop skills that extend far beyond the gym — confidence, resilience, discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and the belief that they are capable of accomplishing difficult things.

We believe our coaches should experience that same sense of growth and community.

You will be joining a team that values:

  • Strong professional relationships

  • Open communication

  • Collaboration and teamwork

  • Continued learning and development

  • High standards balanced with encouragement

  • A positive and supportive workplace culture

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young athletes
