NGC Recreation Program
Our Recreational Program at Northshore Gymnastics Center offers a dynamic and inclusive environment where children from preschool to high school can explore a wide range of gymnastics disciplines. Designed to accommodate all skill levels, our program includes a variety of classes that focus on fun, fitness, and skill development. See a description of each of our classes below.
Session Structure: Our Recreational Program operates on a session-based schedule, offering flexibility to fit your family's needs. We offer sessions in the fall, winter, spring, and summer, with each session lasting between 3 to 7 weeks depending on the season. This structure allows your child to consistently develop their skills while enjoying the excitement of learning in a supportive community.

Parent Tot
Duration: 45 minutes
Ages: 9 months - 3 years old
Description:
The Parent/Tot class is a fun introduction to locomotor skills (running, hopping, jumping, climbing, rolling, skipping, dancing and more). Our coaches will guide you and your little one through scaled down gymnastics equipment and obstacle course circuits.

Preschool & Advanced Preschool
Duration: 45 minutes

Description:
Preschool classes at Northshore are geared for different abilities, physical skills, listening and attention spans. Each class uses obstacle courses, trampolines, and a variety of preschool equipment!

Preteam (Invite Only)
Duration: 90 minutes (2x Per Week)
Ages: 3-5
Description:
This class is invite only and is the first step on the path towards competitive gymnastics at NGC. Gymnasts offered the opportunity to join Advanced Preschool have/must demonstrate consistent attendance to class, strong listening skills, good body awareness, can take direction and corrections well. This class will focus on gymnastics fundamentals and terminology with a large emphasis on agility, strength and flexibility. Gymnasts in this class are required to attend twice a week for consistent training habits to be developed. This class aligns with our team program; it is billed monthly and DOES NOT run on 6 week sessions like other preschool/recreational classes. You will be charged on the last day of the previous month for the next month.

Trampoline & Tumbling
Duration: 90 minutes
Ages: 8+
Description:
This class is a coed class geared for participants who are interested in increasing their trampoline and tumbling skills. Classes use our trampolines, spring floor and tumbling training surfaces. This class does not have specific gymnastics rotations (bars/beam/vault rotations).

Little Ninja/Tramp
Duration: 45 minutes

Description:
Our Little Ninja classes use a scaled down version of our Ninja Curriculum to introduce our preschool aged students to the basic tumbling, balance, strength and agility they will need for success on our fun ninja obstacle courses. Little Ninja’s can expect to spend time on trampoline, floor, strength training and age appropriate versions of our ninja courses.

Ninja / Tumbling (Beginner, Intermediate)
Duration: 60 minutes
Ages: 5-12
Description:
A perfect combination of obstacle courses, tumbling, and strength training. Our Ninja/ Tumbling classes use curriculum from our rec gymnastics to support our ninjas in achieving tumbling skills and incorporates conditioning to increase our ninja's strength, agility, and balance for obstacle course success. At Northshore; Ninja's progress through levels based on their knowledge of terminology, progression of their tumbling skills, and the growth of their conditioning/strength level.

Duration: 60 minutes
Ages: 5-10
Description:
Gymnasts will be introduced to basic gymnastics terminology, body shapes, and skills. Classes will include time spent on all four of the women’s apparatus as well as time spent on strength and conditioning to support their gymnastics foundation.

Description:
This class builds off the skill set gymnasts have achieved in Rec 1. Gymnasts in this class can expect increased conditioning, introduction of new skills and reinforced performance of their basic skill set on each of the four apparatus.

Rec 3 (Invite Only)
Duration: 90 minutes

Description:
This class requires gymnasts to demonstrate mastery of their Rec 1 & 2 skill sets as well as a strong gymnastics vocabulary. With the increase in class length gymnasts can expect more rigorous conditioning, and daily reinforcement of basics, as they are coached and progressed towards a more advanced skill set on all four apparatus.

Rec 4 (Invite only)
Duration: 90 minutes
Ages: 8-12
Description:
This class is the highest and final level of our Recreational gymnastic program. Gymnasts that reach this level have been invited or recommend to join this level by a coach. Gymnasts must have consistent attendance history, strong terminology, good flexibility & conditioning habits and a strong basic skill set foundation on all four apparatus. We encourage gymnasts in this class to attend twice a week in preparation for an invitation to one of our competitive team programs. (DP or Xcel)
